Darcy Daniel throws a perfect game as Perkins Pirates rout Toledo Woodward in Division III Northwest District (Tournament Roundup)

CLYDE — Darcy Daniel pitched a five-inning perfect game to help lift Perkins to a 10-0 win over Toledo Woodward in a sectional semifinal game in the Division II New Washington District.

The top-seeded Pirates totaled 13 hits and scored six runs in the first two innings. Perkins advances to the sectional finals against Bellevue, which defeated Rossford, 8-4.

Western Reserve 10, Fostoria 9: The Roughriders overcame an early deficit to defeat Fostoria in a D-III Clyde sectional final.

Western Reserve trailed 5-1 before scoring five runs in the bottom of the third. Fostoria scored four runs in the fourth to regain the lead, but the Roughriders scored two runs apiece in the fourth and sixth innings for the win.

The Roughriders advance to play No. 1 seed Edison on Tuesday.

Monroeville 9, Buckeye Central 5: The Eagles took a four-run lead after an inning of play and never looked back in defeating Buckeye Central in a D-IV Shelby sectional semifinal game.

Monroeville added three more runs in the third and two in the fourth to earn the win. The Eagles will play No. 1 seed Plymouth on Tuesday.

South Central 10, St. Paul 0: The Trojans scored six runs in the second inning on its way to a five-inning mercy rule win over St. Paul in a Division IV Shelby sectional final game.


Edison 10, Margaretta 0: The Chargers shut out the Polar Bears in a D-III Tiffin Sectional Semifinal.

Adam Wroblewski and Tristen Ball led the Chargers with three hits each, while Austin Utter and Adam Wolf added two apiece.

Western Reserve 12, Huron 8: Nate Ash had three hits, including a triple and five RBIs to lead the Roughriders over the Tigers in a D-III Tiffin Sectional Semifinal.

St. Paul 10, South Central 1: The Flyers had no problem getting by the Trojans in a Division IV North Robinson Sectional Semifinal.
