Brookside Cardinals fall in sectional final (Roundup)

ELYRIA — The Bucks jumped on the Cardinals 23-9 in the first half, and cruised to a 40-27 win in a Division II sectional semifinal played at Elyria High School on Wednesday night.

Erika Elias was the only Brookside player to score in double digits with 10, including a 3-pointer. Arianna Sanchez also chipped in with eight.

Huron 61, Edison 50: Audra Wisehart scored a game-high 14 points, while Sarah Schoelwer and Ashley Myers scored 12 points each to lead the Tigers past the Chargers in a Division III New Washington sectional quarterfinal.

Ciara Reed led Edison with 12 points, while Lauren Crooks added 11, including three 3-pointers.

Huron will now play Ashland Crestview on Saturday at 6:15 p.m. at Willard High School.
