SPECIAL TO THE MORNING JOURNAL Elyria Catholic’s Lauren Wisnor signed her letter of intent to continue playing soccer next year at Walsh University. Wisnor was an All-Ohio Second Team selection last season, along with being a Greater Cleveland, Lorain County, West Shore Conference First Teamer. She also was the Panthers’ MVP and helped lead EC to its first ever regional championship.
SPECIAL TO THE MORNING JOURNAL Brookside’s Megan O’Connor, left, and Chad Metcalf, right, will continue their sports career at Notre Dame College. Metcalf will play football, while O’Connor will play soccer at the college in South Euclid. Metcalf earned three varsity letters in football, two in baseball and wrestling while at Brookside. Last season, Metcalf was the team’s Most Valuable Defensive Player, while also earning All-Lorain County First Team honors as a defensive lineman.
SPECIAL TO THE MORNING JOURNAL Columbia’s Foster Tucker signed his letter of intent to play football at Tiffin University. Tucker was an offensive tackle/middle linebacker for the Raiders, where he helped lead the Raiders to a PAC championship and the school’s first playoff win.
SPECIAL TO THE MORNING JOURNAL Midview’s Steven Best, a 6-foot-4, 235 pound left tackle, officially signed his letter of intent to play football on the defensive side of the ball at Ashland University. Best was a three-year letter winner for the Middies and a captain of last year’s playoff team.
